History

Established in 1978, the mission of HDC is dedicated to providing community residential group home living, intensive residential habilitation services, behavior focus with behavior analysis services, adult day training, life skills training, transportation, educational and employment training, and to adult males diagnosed with intellectual disability, autism, and intensive behavioral problems.

HDC has an enormous positive impact in the long range quality of our client’s lives. Without organizations such as HDC these individuals are offered little help, and usually end up institutionalized, incarcerated, homeless or being supported by aging parents.

Serving the Community at Local & State levels

Currently, there are only a handful of State Approved Behavior Intensive Facilities within Florida, therefore HDC accepts clients from all districts within the State of Florida and our extent to which we serve the state has a long reach from the local to the state level.

We are licensed by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities.  HDC is also an active member of the Bay Area Rehabilitative Cooperative (BARC), Florida Associations of Rehabilitation Facilities (FARF) and serves as a training site for the University of South Florida’s Clinical Psychology and Behavior Analysis programs providing USF students with practicum experience.
